Well I am back to school and ready to work! I have been working on curriculum alignment and educator effectiveness when focusing on my lessons. My great friend Tasha Newton let me use her "I CAN" statements and it helps me to remember what the objective and standards of each lesson are. This is a simple kindergarten lesson getting them comfortable in the classroom and using materials correctly. That is the the statement actually "I can correctly use materials and supplies in the art room". We learned about artist Wayne Thiebaud and learned tons about making circles. We stamped circles, counted circles, cut circles we even got to eat circles (a gumball of coarse).
The second graders are working on primary colors. On the right is my awesome student teacher Devon demonstrating how to paint only using primary colors. We looked at the work of Mondrian and watched a great YouTube about the arthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4b85UBqUy28 Broadway Boogie-Woogie the Animation (Lost in the City). The left shows that we also incorporated a 3D element into the lesson on the second day. |
